Hiring and retention challenge with top female technical talent
We are a multinational corporation with offices throughout Canada. Like many high tech corporations, we need to do a much better job of identifying, recruiting, hiring, and retaining top female technical talent. Various corporations have tried different approaches but there really don’t seem to be any clear best practices that have emerged. Some would argue that without a large increase in female STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) postsecondary graduates we will not be able to significantly increase numbers. But we need solutions today, not tomorrow. We need a proactive approach to start continuously improving our female numbers – both in total and as compared to males. Proposed solutions would be welcome.
